Last Wednesday (22nd Jan) was an historic day for Trevithick Day. The Mayor, Cllr James Ball and the Chair of the Trevithick Day Committee, Trevor Brookes signed a ‘Collaboration Agreement’ to help ensure the future of the event.
Previously, Camborne Town Council awarded a monetary Community Grant to Trevithick Day CIC. This year, the volunteer committee members of the Community Interest Company requested a more hands-on approach from the Town Council in lieu of a Community Grant. The agreement defines Camborne Town Council’s revised commitment to the event to deliver key health and safety elements such as road closures, stewarding, security and first aid provision.
We look forward to working with the Trevithick Day organisers to make the 2025 event (on Sat 26th April) a great success. Camborne Town Council and Trevithick Day CIC will review the process after the event and further refine the collaboration. We hope all supporters of this event welcome this collaboration, which will help ensure Camborne’s biggest day for future generations.
