Lowarth Holman Moves Into Final Phase as New Contractor Appointed
Camborne Town Council is delighted to announce that Mid Cornwall Landscaping Ltd has been appointed to complete the remaining works at Lowarth Holman, with construction set to recommence this week!
The appointment marks a significant milestone for the project following a challenging period that saw work temporarily paused after the previous contractor was unable to complete the scheme. Since then, the Council has been working closely with partners to procure a new contractor and ensure the project can move forward successfully.
The remaining works are expected to take around eight weeks, with completion anticipated in mid-September, subject to weather and site conditions.
Once complete, Lowarth Holman will provide a high-quality green community space featuring landscaped gardens, improved walking routes, seating areas and enhanced biodiversity, creating an attractive and accessible environment for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Throughout the pause in construction, the Council’s Amenities Team has continued to carry out maintenance where possible to keep the site safe and presentable while preparations for the next phase were underway.
Town Clerk, Jon James, said:
“A great deal of work has taken place behind the scenes to get the project to this point. The delays have been frustrating for everyone involved, but we now have a clear route to completion and look forward to seeing the community enjoy the finished space. On behalf of the Council, I would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding during an undoubtedly challenging period for everyone concerned.”
Vice Chair of the Camborne Town Deal Board, Councillor John Cosgrove, said:
“The Town Deal programme is about creating lasting benefits for Camborne, and Lowarth Holman is an important part of that vision. It’s fantastic to see the project moving forward once again and nearing the point where residents can begin to enjoy the space.”

To celebrate the completion of the project, Camborne Town Council is planning a community opening event later this year, giving residents the opportunity to explore the new space, meet those involved in the project and celebrate the transformation of this once-derelict site into a vibrant community asset.
