Camborne Has Been Yarnbombed!

If you’ve walked around Camborne since Sunday morning, you may have noticed that Camborne has been Yarnbombed in order to mark Fairtrade Fortnight!

The Camborne Yarn Bombers worked with BID Camborne to create a huge array of knitted and crocheted teabag bunting, postbox toppers and multi-colour coverings for anything from bollards to benches. Even the Richard Trevithick statue is now adorned with a fetching new hat and shawl! Almost all of the designs follow the theme of tea drinking in keeping with this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight theme and the yarnbombing also celebrates the fact that Camborne became the first town in Cornwall to achieve the status of a Fairtrade Town, largely thanks to the tireless work of Brian Terry, Camborne’s Fairtrade Ambassador.

If you’re in the area, pop into Camborne and take a tour around town to take in all the amazing designs along Trelowarren Street, Cross Street and more.
