The Camborne Community Awards are returning for 2026!
The Awards identify and celebrate outstanding achievements within Camborne, by groups, organisations or individuals. These Awards recognise that everybody who lives or works in Camborne is vital to the success of our Parish, and is an opportunity to thank those who work hard to ensure Camborne is a thriving, vibrant and positive community.

Volunteer of the Year - Sponsored by the Rotary Club
here are lots of volunteers across Camborne who selflessly devote their time to helping others. They deserve recognition and should be celebrated for their hard work and dedication.

Good Neighbour - Sponsored by Neighbourhood Watch
Our community would not be the same without individuals who go out of their way to support others. Whether they live next door to you or a bit further away, this award recognises those who go above and beyond to help others.

Young Achiever - Sponsored by Camborne Redruth Lions
This award recognises exceptional achievements by young people who attend Primary School in the Camborne Parish.

Group of the Year
Across Camborne, groups are being held to support many causes, such as mental health, young carers and combatting loneliness in the elderly. These groups should be given the recognition they deserve.

Outstanding Contribution to Sport
There are many sports teams in Camborne who devote themselves to their field, as well as the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to ensure matches and training can go ahead. Anybody who contributes to sport within Camborne can be nominated for this award.

Best Community Project - Sponsored by Cornish Metals
This award celebrates groups, businesses or individuals who have set up a project to better the community and improve the experience of others.

Outstanding Contribution to Arts
There are many organisations and groups in Camborne who support creativity and expression through a variety of artistic mediums. This award recognises them for their devotion to their craft.

Environment and Climate Change Hero
Climate change is at the forefront of what we deliver, and this award recognises individuals or groups who are reducing their climate impact, or are supporting the community to make positive change.

Fundraising/Charity Hero
This award recognises those who have devoted their time to raise money for vital causes. Whether it’s a bake sale or a charity gala, celebrating those who have worked hard for a good cause is important to us.

Sid Godolphin Award
This award recognises exceptional achievements, strength and dedication by young people who attend Secondary School or College in the Camborne Parish.

Unsung Hero
This award recognises those who work tirelessly to make a difference in Camborne, with little or no recognition. Without our Unsung Heroes, Camborne would not be the place it is!
Nomination Scoring and Criteria
Below you can find information on how we score nominations:
Nominations should include the following information. Each point will be scored from 1-4, with 1 being poor evidence and 4 being excellent evidence.
1) Impact and Need: This point looks at ‘why’ and ‘what’. It looks at the positive
impact and how much of a difference the nominee makes. It can be scored
against the following criteria:
• Identified Need – Did the nominee step in where there was a clear gap or
particular group in need of support?
• Measurable Change – Is there a ‘before and after’ of the project, with a direct
outcome of their work/support.
• Longevity – Is this a one-off event/activity or ongoing? Will the effects be felt
for a long time to come?
2) Commitment: This point looks at ‘who’. Who is/are the nominees? It focuses on
the person/people showing dedication or creativity and can be scored against
the following criteria:
• Time and Effort – Has the nominee put a lot of time and effort into this
project?
• Persistence – Did the nominee overcome any obstacles to succeed?
• Creativity – Has the nominee shown creativity in their approach to their work?
3) Engagement and Influence: This point looks at the ‘how’. How has this
person/nominee delivered their work, was it done with others or alone, has it
inspired others? It can be scored using the following criteria:
• Collaboration – Did they work with other people on this, or alone?
• Inspiration – Has their work motivated others to do the same or improved the
experience for others? Has engagement increased as a result?
• Sustainability – Is this project sustainable? Was it delivered in a sustainable
way
