NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly are hosting a Health & Wellbeing event at Camborne Wesley Methodist Church on Weds 11th February. This event is for patients from Carn to Coast, Godolphin Health, Harris Memorial Surgery, Leatside Health Centre and Veor Surgery that form part of the North Kerrier Neighbourhood Health Area.

  • Come along to speak to staff in the morning at a quieter session and chance to speak to people one to one: 11am to 4pm
  • Book your place on the online workshops from 1-3pm or book to attend an online workshop from 6-7pm.
  • Local health and wellbeing advice available at our winter wellbeing ‘market place’ and chance to have NHS health checks: 10am to 4pm.

Finally, the national Big Garden Birdwatch Survey is taking place between Friday 23rd Jan and Sunday 25th Jan so why not head to The Spinney to see if you can spot the regular visitors to this green space in Camborne and submit your results to the national survey?

As of 1pm on Friday 9th Jan, the huge fallen tree on Pendarves Road that was felled by Storm Goretti is still blocking the road, and given the size of the trunk and branches it will take contractors some time to clear, please avoid this route if possible.

The public toilets in Rosewarne car park will close on December 24th and they will reopen on December 29th. They will then be closed again on December 31st and will reopen on January 5th.

Last Saturday, Camborne Library hosted the Forest for Cornwall’s ‘Free Tree Giveaway’ and dozens of members of the local community came together to claim a native sapling for their gardens and chat about the need for more trees across the parish.

Our new prospective Tree Warden attended to discuss working towards Cornwall Council’s new nature recovery principles and meet those involved including Forest for Cornwall staff, a local conservationist and Cllr Nigel Miles.
