The lanterns that were made for the (cancelled) Children’s Lantern Parade last November went on display last week at our ‘Afina’ showcase event. The wonderful work of local school children couldn’t just be discarded, so since last November we’d been looking for an opportunity to place them on public display so that the children, students, parents and members of the community could admire their fantastic work.
On Tuesday March 4th, over a dozen lanterns were collected from Cornwall College and half a dozen local schools, following which they were displayed and illuminated in Camborne Wesley Methodist Church on Chapel Street. Members of the public popped in with their children throughout the afternoon to admire both the lanterns and a display by Create CiC who were also showcasing their students recent work at the event.
